Container Gardening for the Landless
For some of us, we can go into our front yards, backyards, or farms to plant a seed. A plant. A tree. For some of us, we are in the perfect environment and element to produce life. For some of us, we are able to take a simple step outside and reap the rewards of our hard work… and for some of us none of this is possible. That is where container gardening comes in, it’s a perfect method for people who don’t have the means to plant outside. It’s good for school projects as well, people who are too busy to keep an actual well kept garden, home cooks, and people who just want a little extra life in their homes. I remember when I was young, my grandfather had a well kept small garden in his backyard which bursted with life where as my yard (and the rest of our neighbors yards) were made of concrete. He however, had soil and since the house next to ours was abandoned, he used their small soil plot to grow flowers that attracted pollinators. In his garden he grew fruits, vegetables, and beautiful roses. One day, he became too ill to keep it up and the house next door was fixed and they had to remove his flowers and his garden died. So, to make it easier on himself he turned to container gardening and the magic of life was blooming again all over his house! Not only for ornamental and edible reasons but for other reasons such as healing properties. My grandparents had worked together to fill their small house with lots of plants, including aloe vera in which my grandma would slit open and rub its gel on me when ever I burned myself. They grew beautiful flowers and eye capturing plants with weird but cool leaves and mint too. Their house had a positive energy and everyone was smiling. So now I wanted to learn how to do it on my own and I’m sure many of you guys do as well. I didn’t want to spend hours searching on how to grow multiple plants, I wanted one source that had it all. That’s why I decided to make this website as an easy source for anyone to use, it actually started off as a senior high school project but it’s growing into so much more than that. I hope you find this website useful, and if there is something you think should be in it then feel free to contact me. Happy planting!
