- Use an 8-12 in’ pot or bigger. With vegetables it is better to use bigger pots with more soil.
- Green beans also like soil that is well drained and rich, so before adding your soil layer the bottom of your pot/container with a layer of gravel.
- If you are planting Bush beans, sow the seeds 1 inch deep and two inches apart. When the seedlings reach three inches thin them out to be 6 inches apart. If planting Pole beans, sow 4 to 6 inches apart around a stake for round containers or buckets or along a trellis for long containers.
- Place beans in an area that will get 8 hours of sunlight a day.
- Give the beans 1 inch of water per week.
- To fertilize them, try feeding them once a month with compost tea.
Tips/Facts/Uses:
- Tastes delicious straight off the plant, just rinse, the natural flavor is amazing.
