Does it really work?
Mind you, this was an experiment so I did have some errors. My first and only error being, I added too much water to my crystals and even though I corrected it, my plants still did not flourish like I had hoped. My snap peas only grew one sprout and it was dying. My Lettuce however, flooded and turned yellow so I took out half of my soil, added dry soil, and I took out the yellow and dying leaves and I added just a bit of phosphorus. How ever, it WAS a fun project and I will add an update to let you guys know how it worked the second time! I do not like to waste soil so what I did to fix the water problem was that I took out half of the watered down soil in my pot, added dry soil, and I put the hydrosoil on foil to dry. My Lettuce is now thin but the leaves are healthy and green, hopefully it can grow correctly. For my lettuce, at first I only put some crystals near the roots, then when I repotted it I mixed all the crystals throughout the soil which probably resulted in my instinct to over water. For my parsley, I put the crystals near the roots in dollops and my parsley is still growing fine. So next time, if my plant is maturing, I will put crystals in dollops and if I'm starting seeds or sprouts, I will mix it in.
